The Magnetic Island and Townsville region of the Great Barrier Reef boasts some of the reef’s most pristine and spectacular sites as there is virtually no fishing pressure.  Specially tailored trips to inner or outer reef locations are available to suit the family or a group of friends wishing to have an unforgettable reef experience without the hustle and bustle of crowded mixed group charters.

Some may simply wish to anchor in a shallow sheltered pure white sand lagoon and spend all day snorkelling and exploring the beautifully decorated coral bombies and their myriad of multi coloured marine life.  For those in the group content to stay on board, or when you’re not in the water, you can just laze back on the deck eating fresh local prawns and enjoy a cold drink while marvelling at the surrounding turquoise coloured waters.  This type of experience is very popular with family groups with the option of catching a fish or two either to take home or have cooked fresh on board for your lunch.

Reef Fishing

Reef fishing is under two hours away with some of the best eating fish known - Coral Trout, Red Emperor, Cobia and Nannygai.

With such a vast reef area and with minimal fishing pressure, the reef at times can really turn it on and you don't know what you are going to catch next.

The deep drop-offs also hold large Spanish Mackerel that are cruising the edges waiting for that well presented bait.
